On September 24, 2022 from 6pm-midnight in Bijour Park (Old Market Square, Winnipeg) for an interactive art exhibition as part of Nuit Blanche Winnipeg.
Under an illuminated mystical tent, you will find Madam Mortel and Sister Sylv’s fortune-telling parlour.
The queens are lit up and invite guests to have their fortunes read. This interactive experience is rooted in the history of camp comedy drag (performance art). In their gregarious and hilarious performance, Madam Mortel and Sister Sylv breaks the ‘third wall’ and will speak directly to guest as they walk by. They will invite guests to sit with them and read their palms and tarot cards. Special guests will walk away with a fortune card too.
The performance will leave guests laughing at their skills (or lack thereof). The performance is designed to be accessible and friendly to all ages and families. This performance is performed by Rose Mortel and Sylv, and co-created by Lady Martina and Trixie Brown.
This live performance art will be ongoing through the whole night.
