Re-Emergence Launch

Thank you to the many amazing folks who attended our Re-Emergence launch on Nov 19, 2024 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

The event commemorated the 35th anniversary of the term "Two-Spirit," first coined in Winnipeg in 1990. And the event featured:

the screening of Canada’s Two-Spirit documentary short,
the launch of a Two-Spirit Curriculum, and
the unveiling of the a Two-Spirit Pride Flag.

This event celebrates Two-Spirit resilience and contributions to reconciliation. The documentary, filmed in Winnipeg, highlights the legacy of residential schools, honours survivors, and discusses paths to meaningful reconciliation. Patrick Hunter’s flag design embodies representation and harmony, featuring eagle feathers and symbolic circles of inclusion.
